Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan Attended The PM Awas Yojana-Gramin Program In Balewadi, Pune
Union Rural Development Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan attended a major event under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin in Balewadi, Maharashtra. The program was held to highlight the government’s commitment to ensuring every rural family gets a pucca house.
The event was also attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CM Shri Ajit Pawar, Rural Development Minister Shri Jai Kumar Gore, State Minister Shri Yogesh Kadam, and Horticulture Minister Shri Bharat Gogavale, among other dignitaries.
Addressing thousands of villagers, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said,
“Ab koi bhi gareeb bina ghar ke nahi rahega. Ghar har ek ko milega.”
He shared that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 30 lakh houses have already been given to the poor in less than a year. He called it both a blessing and proof of Modi Ji’s vision for rural development.
He further said,
“Maharashtra sarkar har saal 65 hazaar crore rupaye gareebon ke ghar banane mein laga rahi hai. Isse gaon ki economy bhi sudhregi aur sadak, bijli, paani jaise kaam bhi tezi se honge.”
Shri Shivraj urged the Maharashtra government to conduct a fresh survey so that any eligible families left out in 2018 can also benefit from the scheme. He emphasized that the double-engine government — with strong leadership at both the Centre and State — is working hard to ensure no poor person is left behind.
Important Changes for Rural Families:
Now, families earning up to ₹15,000 per month are also eligible for a house.
Even if you own a motorcycle or scooter, you can still get a house.
Farmers with up to 2.5 acres of irrigated land or 5 acres of dry land will now be included.
These changes are made keeping the real needs of the rural population in mind.
Shri Shivraj Singh also praised the Ladki Behna Yojana of Maharashtra and said such schemes protect the self-respect of women.
He said,
“Yeh sirf paisa dene ki yojana nahi hai. Yeh gareeb behno ko izzat se jeene ka haq dene wali yojana hai.”
He also spoke about the success of the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, which is helping women in villages become financially strong.
He proudly shared that now many women in Maharashtra have become not just Lakhpati Didis but even Mahalakhpati Didis — some earning more than ₹10 lakh per year.
